Antigua Commercial Bank hosts its Fourth Annual Business Shareholders Luncheon
On Thursday, October 30th 2014, Antigua Commercial Bank hosted its 4th Annual Shareholders’ Luncheon. The luncheon was organized by the Bank in an effort to foster camaraderie among its shareholders, and other stakeholders, allowing them an opportunity to socialize in a relaxed setting.

The luncheon was organized by the Bank in an effort to foster camaraderie among its shareholders, and other stakeholders, allowing them an opportunity to socialize in a relaxed setting. The attendees were addressed by guest speaker, Dr. Robertine Chaderton Former Senior Lecturer of University of the West Indies and Financial Consultant, who ably spoke on the topic "Effectively Managing Your Finances”.

Via Circular dated July 15, 2013 entitled “Shareholders Packages- The Electronic Distribution Initiative (Going Green)”, shareholders were encouraged to establish Standing Order instructions to facilitate receipt of dividends, when declared.

We confirm that the response to the Bank’s request has been encouraging and we express our appreciation to those who have since made contact with the Legal/ Secretariat Department to make the necessary arrangements.

We however take this opportunity to advise as follows:-

  • (i) That effective December 31, 2015, the Bank will cease to issue dividend cheques to our local Shareholders;

  • (ii) That as a consequence, affected Shareholders must establish Standing Order Instructions to allow for direct deposit to their Account of choice, maintained at any Financial Institution or Credit Union operating within the State of Antigua and Barbuda.

As at September 30, 2012, there were over 5400 Shareholders on the Company’s share register, resident not only within the State of Antigua and Barbuda and throughout the Caribbean, but also in North America, Canada and Europe.

On an annual basis, Shareholders receive the Company’s Annual Report together with the Notice of Annual General Meeting, Circular to Shareholders, Minutes of the previous Annual General Meeting and Proxy Form in printed form. With the adoption of the Company’s new Bylaws on September 27, 2011, Shareholders resident outside of the State of Antigua and Barbuda, were directed to our website, www.acbonline.com, to access the Company’s Annual Report.

Your Board, after conducting an assessment of the continually rising related costs of printing and posting thousands of Reports and other related documents, each year, has made the decision to distribute Shareholders’ AGM Packages via personalized CD/flashdrive to your respective address on record.

Antigua Commercial Bank remains committed to adapting to the changing times to maintain your Shareholder Value. This Green Initiative is in keeping with the trend in other parts of the world and will likely lead to a more effective and timely distribution process and the reduction in printing costs.
