Antigua Commercial Bank is seeking to recruit a qualified and experienced individual to provide strong support to the Finance & Accounting Executive in the provision of accurate and comprehensive financial and management reports in accordance with legal, financial and ECCB regulations, and to ensure adequate systems and procedures which allow for the overall efficient administration of the Finance and Accounting unit. The following duties must be performed:
  • Ensuring that the Bank’s liquidity position is efficiently and effectively managed, closely monitoring to ensure the timely and profitable management of the Company’s domestic and foreign cash resources and investments, making sound recommendations to maximise returns and minimise risk.
  • Managing ACB’s investment portfolio on a daily basis and handling inter-bank borrowing and lending.
  • Ensuring the maintenance, verification and integrity of the Company’s financial records, by reviewing the account balances monthly, performing periodic checks and making comparisons with budget, prior year and/or future trends.
  • Ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of financial reports for the Auditors/ECCB etc., business and statutory returns, ensuring compliance with all relevant Banking and Statutory requirements.
  • Assisting with reviewing, developing and documenting systems and procedures, working with the management team for proper GL integration and to ensure the improved efficiency of the overall operation.
  • Ensuring that the Bank’s corresponding accounts and General Ledger accounts are reconciled periodically as required.
To perform the job successfully an individual must:
  • Possess at least a Bachelor degree in Accounting/Finance and be working towards a recognised Accounting Qualification e.g. ACCA, CMA, CIMA.
  • Possess a minimum of three (3) years audit experience
  • Experience in a banking/financial services environment will be an asset
  • Work well in a team environment
  • Be computer literate with at least intermediate proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
