Antigua Commercial Bank is seeking to recruit a qualified and experienced individual for the position of Manager-Risk and Compliance, to direct the risk and compliance function of the Group. The successful individual will be responsible for assessing all main areas of risk to include credit, operational, liquidity, market, money laundering, financing of terrorism risks and other regulatory matters, by designing, implementing and maintaining an effective Risk Management Programme.

The duties to be performed include:

  • Oversees all risk-taking activities, including reviewing transactions to ensure that they are being conducted within an appropriate risk control framework.
  • Implements the Bank’s Risk Management Programme.
  • Co-ordinates the AML Compliance Programme.
  • Conducts Risk and AML Compliance reviews for the ACB Group.
  • Effectively manages workflows within the Department, monitoring systems and procedures of the Bank, sees to the completion of management reports/returns accurately and on time, in order to ensure that routine and credit operations are efficiently carried out.
  • Works closely with the Board, Supervisory Authorities and Senior Management Team, making sound recommendations to reduce risk, improve compliance with established procedures/policies and/or reduce expenditure.
  • Conducts risk assessments of new products to be offered by the Bank.
  • Performs stress tests bi-annually.
  • Prepares the Bank to become compliant with IFRS9 and Basel II/III Standards.
  • Develops and implements the Bank’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Programme.
  • Ensures timely responses are provided by management to all risk assessments.
  • Ensures that the Bank’s risk tolerance levels are maintained and controlled for all areas of risk.

To perform the job successfully the individual must have:
  • Possess at least a Bachelors degree or Post Graduate Degree in Business/Finance/Banking/Law
  • Certification in Anti-Money Laundering and/or Risk Management would be an asset
  • Possess a minimum of 5 to 10 years progressive banking experience or comparable work experience, at least two (2) of which should have been in a senior position Audit/Inspection/Compliance/banking supervision.
